Koh Young Technology Topples More Records in Q42019-02-18
Seoul, South Korea – Benefiting from the continuing trend of component miniaturization, Koh Young Technology realized booming sales from its 3D inspection business and toppled several records this past quarter. The Company finished the year with its best year with total annual revenue of KRW 238.2 billion. The company once again demonstrated its market-leading position by posting a record fourth quarter, which grew nearly 8 percent in the fourth quarter of last year, boosted by an impressive performance by the Americas.
“We’re excited to report another record-breaking quarter that caps a tremendous fiscal 2018. This year we grew faster than ever before and completed some significant changes, including an R&D center relocation,” Dr. Kwangill Koh, CEO of Koh Young Technology said in a statement.
Continuing 3D SPI Success
Koh Young Technology has been the global leader for SPI during 12 straight years and maintained a market share of over 53 percent. The last quarter was no exception. The company’s SPI business achieved strong earnings thanks in part to increasing demand for its best-in-class inspection solutions across multiple industries. Committed to offering a superior user experience, Koh Young improved usability and versatility with the new Auto Repair function, which won the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY New Product Introduction (NPI) Award at IPC APEX Expo last month.
Growing Acceptance of High-precision 3D AOI
Koh Young’s 3D AOI has also experienced impressive growth as the market is recognizing the benefits of true 3D AOI. In fact, the AOI market is expected to grow substantially through 2022. The Koh Young flagship Zenith 3D AOI has become a successful product for the company. It intelligently inspects component defects like coplanarity and lifted leads, which drastically reduces false call and escape rates. Building on the Zenith success, its next-generation 3D AOI is already gaining market acceptance. The Zenith 2 was recently delivered to wenglor sensoric GmbH and marketed the 13,000th Koh Young installation.
Extending 3D Benefits Beyond SMT
As the 3D technology pioneer, Koh Young first introduced 3D SPI in 2003 and is expanding this true 3D technology and benefits beyond the SMT industry with several additional innovations. Its new “Infy” Machining Optical Inspection (MOI) and KY-P3 Automatic Pin Inspection (API) systems have already secured multiple orders. As the recognized leader in electronics measurement and inspection, Koh Young is achieving its guiding vision to “Measure Everything, Everywhere”.
As the absolute leader in the inspection market, Koh Young Technology participates in multiple exhibitions around the globe. Koh Young recently concluded IPC APEX Expo successfully in San Diego, and now we turn to NEPCON China.
