Atlanta, GA
– Koh Young, the industry leader in True3D™
measurement-based inspection solutions, earned another award for its product
innovations. The Global Technology Award was presented to Juan Arango, the
Managing Director of Koh Young America for the new Neptune T Dispense Process
Inspection (DPI) solution during the virtual SMTA International show on 29
September 2020. “I am proud of
the solutions Koh Young consistently delivers to address industry challenges. I
am equally proud of the fact industry experts continue to acknowledge our
technological innovations with awards and recognition,” said Juan. “Our new
Neptune T is the industry’s first 3D optical measurement solution for
transparent material inspection – definitely an award-winning technology that
solves an industry challenge.” Traditional
laser-confocal or electron microscopes only measure three-dimensional shapes
and cannot inspect transparent materials. The microscope penetration depth is
just too shallow. Optical systems use UV light to inspect the surface for
presence. Yet, the Neptune T is the industry’s first 3D measurement solution
for transparent or translucent material inspection in a wet or dry state. Koh Young LIFT
technology (Laser Interferometry for Fluid Tomography) delivers non-destructive
3D inspection to precisely measure and inspect fluids – wet or dry. Based on
low-coherence interferometry, LIFT employs Near Infrared Light (NIR) to capture
images through multiple layers of a fluidic structure – regardless of
transparency. The Neptune T allows manufacturers to explore the depths of its
process and accurately identify defects. With its
AI-powered Machine Learning algorithms, the Neptune T accurately measures
material coverage, thickness, and consistency with a user-defined threshold
setting. It also inspects for bubbles, cracks, and other defects, including
splash marks in designated “keep out” areas. The Neptune T
measures dispensed fluids, not just conformal coating, so it is also suited for
underfill, epoxy, bonding, glue, and more to deliver an exact measurement of
transparent, translucent, and pigmented material. The system is currently
suited for acrylic, silicone, polyurethane, water-based, UV-cure, and hybrid
coatings and handles many types of applications spanning research labs to electronics
inspection. If you cannot attend
